I was out all day shooting and got caught in the rain.

The President of Australia was visiting Paris so they had the entourage going through the Champ Elysées  - they closed all metros in the area and buses.

I walked 20 miles with my camera, tripod and got soaked to the skin. By the time I got home I felt like I was fish out of the pond. I had plastic covers for my camera but not for me.

It was so funny I was drying my close with a hair dryer before I went to bed.

I'm still in Paris and dancing through every moment of it.

Today I wanted to try something different so I experimented with a couple of ND filters.  What do you think?

I was in the car and looked out of the window and saw the drama in the sky.  I had never seen a sunset like this before.  So, of course, I had to stop the car.  Luckily, I had my camera in the trunk so I jumped out, my fancy dress flowing in the air and my high heels clicking on the ground as I chased the red lights in the sky with my lens.  The moment did not stay long and was gone in a few seconds but I got the shot!

I was taking pictures of the sunset but there wasn't enough drama to move me so I decided to go home.

Just as I turned the camera off and removed my filter, suddenly, this big boat comes out of nowhere from underneath the bridge!

I hurried as fast I could, grabbed the filter, secured it to the lens, and flipped on my camera just as the boat decided to turn in the water.  It's big lights gleaming across the waves almost lining up with me on the bridge.  It was an unbelievable moment.

I stood on that bridge wondering if I was going to get the shot I wanted.  Would this work or wouldn't it?  Only time would tell.  And so I waited.  I could not do anything because the camera was on a very slow shutter speed. Together, we waited... for 2 long minutes.

And then, I saw this shot and could not believe the moment had made an image just for me.  The sunset, the clouds, the windows in the buildings, the street lights... all dancing apart and then pulled together by the boat's big lights that finished the scene like a painter's broad strokes across a canvas.

It felt like the boat painted the picture.

I am sure you hear photographers always saying, 'Let's go painting with lights at night.'  And that is just what I did.

Here is the picture...

Yesterday was the Paris Marathon. I walked out of the apartment and thousands of people were running. I shot lots of pictures.

I met 5 runners from Chicago who were still dressed in their running outfits.  They asked me where a good place was to have a bite to eat.  So I told them they and they invited me to join them.

When we walked into the restaurant it was filled with runners. I had great time.  Later that evening we met up again and had dinner.

Paris is so alive.  I just love it!
